Abstract
The group of disorders commonly referred to as collagen vascular diseases includes a number of conditions that can affect almost all organs of the body. Although most of these diseases are much more common in adults, they are seen in children and are associated with significant morbidity. Involvement of the skin and its connective tissues is a prominent feature of all of these conditions. This article will focus on new advancements in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), discoid and neonatal lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), and Sjgren's syndrome.
